The Spirit of Mother Teresa Campaign
In 2006, the Development Office established an annual fund campaign, now known as The Spirit of Mother Teresa Campaign (SOMT), to meet the changing needs of the school. This annual appeal to the MTCES constituency seeks contributions to close the $4,000 gap that exists between the tuition and the actual cost of educating a student.
As a private independent school, MTCES does not receive government subsidies or parish financial support. The school relies on the SOMT Campaign to:
- Fund operating expenses including teacher salaries, energy costs, books and supplies, and technology upgrades;
- Keep tuition affordable and grow a needs-based tuition assistance fund;
- Continue offering a well-rounded educational program including advanced Spanish, accelerated learning, art, and music;
- Maintain our facility and service the $3.8 million in debt accumulated from building it.
Development strives for 100% participation in annual giving from families. Every gift, regardless of size, has an impact on the life of a child.
We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop. ~Blessed Mother Teresa
