MTCES parents turning running into a productive endeavor
Every parent feels they run from sun up to sun down; the duties and responsibilities often leave moms and dads feeling as though they have completed a marathon. While some parents struggle with fatigue, a number of dedicated MTCES parents count on a regular running regiment to keep them one step ahead of life’s challenges.

While Sara and David Coe and Danielle Gingrich are new MTCES parents, all three are avid runners. The Coes were among the parent volunteers giving tours at the recent MTCES Open House for new families, an effort that was followed by their regular evening run. The mother of three young children, Danielle manages to fit regular runs into her busy week, which includes volunteering in the classroom and helping with 5K planning and preparation.
Former MTCES Board Secretary and busy MTCES substitute teacher Jen Schuppe counts on her regular running routine to supplement her soccer training. She and her husband Chris are active in an adult, co-ed soccer league that includes many other MTCESers, including Wendi and Steve Evans.
Paula Iacobell lives life on the run. Her three sons are active in several sports, including baseball and hockey, and play on different teams, requiring that their mom possess scheduling skills to rival an air traffic controller. “It can get hectic, which is why I always find time to run; that time to myself provides me with the balance I need to juggle everyone’s schedules,” she remarked. “Running is what helps me deal with whatever life throws at me.”
These Mother Teresa 5K veterans are among the many MTCES parents already preparing for this year’s event; novice and experienced runners and walkers are welcome. We hope that you will take the time to do something great for yourself, and our school, and join us for the The Third Annual Mother Teresa 5K on Saturday, April 17th at VOA Park in West Chester.
