What Makes Us Unique?

We are extremely proud of the mission and values established at Mother Teresa Catholic Elementary School. Our uniqueness can be seen in the following aspects of our school program:

We are a private Catholic Elementary School.

The parents of our school are represented and involved in the decision making process. Our goal is to treat parents as partners in the education process and develop a spirit of common ownership. This not only gives the parent a better sense of commitment, but studies have shown that the more a parent is involved in a child's education, the better that child will grow and develop.

We provide a traditional learning environment.

The curriculum is centered on the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Graded Course of Study, which is shared by all parish schools in the Archdiocese. Around this curriculum are our core values - Faith, Family and Community - which bring a new level of importance to the basic program.

We incorporate community service into our curriculum.

As part of our education process, we plan to have students follow the example of Mother Teresa and spend time helping other less fortunate. This includes direct involvement in community service, which, will hopefully promote family involvement as well.

We incorporate technology into our education process.

We strive to make appropriate use of technology in the education process to enhance the skills of the students and their families. This applies to the classroom as well as to administrative functions. We have our own web site and increased communications between parents and teachers by providing e-mail. We are also considering such features as online registration and computer related homework assignments.

We strive to make religion part of every student's life.

We have daily prayers that the entire school gathers for before the start of the day. We also celebrate in school Masses and pray the rosary together as a school the months of October and May. During Lent, the students participate in a school-wide retreat, receive the sacrament of Reconciliation, and pray the Stations of the Cross.

We enhance the personal development of the student.

Using such techniques as self directed merit work, students earn credits for and develop personal skills in, the following areas: public speaking, work ethics, goal setting, teamwork, responsibility, finance, and leadership.
